Obwohl er in der Welt der Single Malts noch als Neuling gilt, hat er sich bereits fr\u00fch einen Namen gemacht und braucht sich nicht zu verstecken. Noch vor dem offiziellen Launch im Jahr 2022 \u00fcberzeugte seine komplexe Aromatik internationale Jurys \u2013 zuletzt wurde er bei der International Whisky Competition als Best American Single Malt ausgezeichnet.<\/p>\n

Er verbindet die Tradition schottischer Brennkunst mit amerikanischer Innovationsfreude und steht damit f\u00fcr einen modernen, selbstbewussten Stil.<\/p>\n

Die Reifung erfolgt in drei unterschiedlichen Fassarten: Zun\u00e4chst in Ex-Bourbon-F\u00e4ssern, anschlie\u00dfend in Sherry- sowie sanft getorften F\u00e4ssern. Diese Kombination verleiht dem Whiskey eine au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnliche Tiefe und Komplexit\u00e4t. Die subtile, unaufdringliche Rauchigkeit erg\u00e4nzt die Aromen harmonisch und sorgt f\u00fcr einen ausgewogenen Charakter.<\/p>\n

In der Nase zeigen sich kr\u00e4ftige Getreidenoten, Honig, Apfel und ein feiner Hauch Rauch. Am Gaumen entfalten sich schwarze Johannisbeere, Honig, Pekannuss und roter Apfel, die eine runde, harmonische Verbindung eingehen. Noten von getrockneter Feige, S\u00fc\u00dfkirsche und zarte Orangennuancen leiten elegant in das Finish \u00fcber. Dort sorgt eine feine Rauchigkeit in Kombination mit Honig f\u00fcr einen angenehm s\u00fc\u00dfen, langanhaltenden Abgang.<\/p>\n

Der Bear Fight American Single Malt z\u00e4hlt zu den meistpr\u00e4mierten American Single Malts \u2013 und das schmeckt man bei jedem Schluck. Trotz seines kraftvollen Namens pr\u00e4sentiert er sich zug\u00e4nglich und weniger robust, als das Label vermuten l\u00e4sst. Sein komplexes Geschmacksprofil \u00fcberzeugte bereits kurz nach Release bei internationalen Blindverkostungen: Bei den SIP Awards 2024 erhielt er Double Gold, bei der New York International Spirits Competition 2025 wurde er mit Gold und 95 Punkten ausgezeichnet.<\/p>\n

Durch sein Finish in Reposado-Tequila-F\u00e4ssern wirkt dieser Bourbon zun\u00e4chst kantig und k\u00e4mpferisch \u2013 ganz im Sinne von Bear Fight. Doch schon der erste Schluck zeigt: Dieser B\u00e4r ist \u00fcberraschend weich und zug\u00e4nglich.<\/p>\n

In der Nase pr\u00e4sentieren sich kr\u00e4ftige, w\u00fcrzige Noten eines High-Rye-Bourbons, begleitet von Aromen von Vanilleextrakt, Ahornsirup, ger\u00f6steter Eiche und einer feinen Pfeffrigkeit. Am Gaumen entfalten sich Butterscotch sowie eine harmonische Symbiose aus Honignoten und leichtem Salzkaramell. Kurz darauf tritt der Einfluss der Reposado-F\u00e4sser deutlicher hervor: Ein Hauch von Tequila und dezenter Rauch leiten elegant in das Finish \u00fcber. Dieses ist pr\u00e4gnant, aber nicht aggressiv, mit Noten von Butterscotch, Honig und sanftem Pfeffer, die einen vollmundigen und langanhaltenden Abgang einl\u00e4uten.<\/p>\n
